It lives in us. It's a voice in our heads. It's our ferocity.
That hunger is helpful at times, but we certainly shouldn't live by it.
I think there is a purity in "wanting", but left unchecked, it surely reveals its callous distastefulness. I certainly hear The Beast often...
This piece is an exploration of that. A venture to reflect on the duality of that instinct. The dregs of garbage accumulation in the culmination of our excess, and the powerful feeling of reaching to finger the trigger of our grand desires. And i have grand desires... So the lyrics in this piece are bold, and its easy to relish in that boldness. Maybe a little uncomfortable to feel that way... It's base.. and its young... And that purity of returning to a youthful clarity is supreme. Its strange to want out loud.. But if we don't want things bad enough, we'll never leave the porch...
