yes, this is not the usual affair. It's solemn pedal steel and clear vocals.
Some years ago, i recorded a pedal steel and vocals take of this tune an threw it up on soundcloud. It Is a Tom Waits song- and it's always felt special to me. I speaks to me about change, and remembering to accept it. - not fear it. "You can never hold back spring"- you can never staunch the flow of time. "Remember everything that spring can bring"- If you fully mitigate the "lows", you'll mitigate the "highs".
As my good buddy Cole Bridges sings- "The snow and ice, i know they sting, but they ain't nothin to the green of spring. 'Cause that tundras gonna melt, and that grass is gonna grow, and what once caused you all that pain, will now make that river flow..." ------
I was working on a different Production for Neon Gravel this week, but changed lanes, and followed what my heart felt. And i dedicate this composition of Tom Waits' song to my Grandma Virginia "Ginny" "Moo Moo". She lived well, and Died well. And this is all i know to do with my emotions.
-Follow your heart and do what feels right to you. Your heart might be wrong about things, but following it will grant you the opportunity to change for the better. As is stated in the book-" The Alchemist" " if you stop listening to your heart, over time it will stop speaking to you."
What then will you do?? What then will lead you??
It is singularly yours.
Step forward first with your heart, and the following steps will all make sense to you.
